Light in the Darkness

What do you hold on to when life suddenly goes dark? In this sermon from Psalm 119, we explore how God’s Word meets us in seasons of suffering, confusion, and loss. Using the picture of sudden storms and power outages, this message shows how our hearts instinctively reach for “light”, whether it’s money, success, family, reputation, or control.

Walking through Psalm 119, we learn three powerful truths about trouble: God’s Word teaches us to cling to Him as our true portion, to submit to the surprising goodness of affliction, and to embrace the comforting sovereignty of God over every circumstance. Instead of buying into the culture’s story of constant progress and self-improvement, we see that God’s goal is to conform us to the image of Jesus, even when that means becoming weaker and more dependent on Him.

If you’re walking through trials, wrestling with “Why is this happening?” or wondering where God is in your pain, this sermon will help you see that in every season of darkness you are completely safe in the good hands of God.
